New Upskilling Programme Launched for Emerging Managers in Wicklow’s Manufacturing Sector

Wicklow is set to benefit from a new leadership development initiative tailored for early-stage managers working in the manufacturing sector. Developed jointly by the Kildare and Wicklow Education and Training Board (KWETB) and the Local Enterprise Office (LEO) Wicklow, the programme aims to strengthen managerial capability across local SMEs through practical, industry-focused training.

Offered at no cost under the Skills to Advance initiative, the course will run across two full-day workshops at the LEO offices in Wicklow County Campus, Rathnew. Successful participants will receive the internationally recognised Institute of Leadership & Management (ILM) award.

The programme is built around two core modules:

Leading and Motivating Your Team Effectively
Focuses on strengthening communication, enhancing morale, and equipping managers with the confidence and practical tools to guide teams toward higher productivity and quality standards.

Problem Solving and Making Decisions
Provides practical techniques for analysing operational issues quickly, making evidence-based decisions, reducing downtime, and improving overall manufacturing efficiency.

Module dates are set for 22 January and 13 February, both scheduled from 9:00 to 16:00.
