The theme of this month’s event is Use Your Voice and it will feature two expert voice coaches sharing tips on how you as a business owner can get more attention and get real business results.

My Voice – My Superpower

Speaker: Clodagh Swords, Simply Voice

Would you like to step into the spotlight and command attention? In this session Clodagh Swords will help you to empower your voice, equipping you with the skills and techniques to break through barriers and captivate your online and in-person audience.   Clodagh will share tips on how you can speak with confidence so that you can clearly communicate your vision.  She will touch on stance and mindset.

Poor communication and speaking skills can lead to misunderstandings, frustration, and dissatisfaction among customers, ultimately impacting their overall experience and potentially driving them away from your business. In this session, you will learn from Michelle Nolan O’Driscoll how your voice can be used in the simplest of ways to help you achieve your goals, such as securing a sale with practical tips on areas such as choice of words and phrases that will spark interest, avoidance of slang and fillers. 

There will be tea/coffee and sandwiches available before the talks and the evening will finish with networking over wine.

Clodagh Swords, Simply Voice

Clodagh Swords has appeared on T.V., radio,and film for both acting and singing. Beckoning from Trinity College Dublin in the Drama and Theatre Studies department she shared her class with some very well-known actors!! Deciding she had to do more, putting in some hard work, managed to get a first-class in her MA in Applied Drama/Voice and facilitation, specializing in improvisation and the voice as that was the most fun! Professionally trained in physical theatre and developing confidence in people’s singing & speaking voice. Not afraid of hard work as a creative entrepreneur and advanced public speaker with over 20 years of experience within facilitation and communications. She developed the Simply Voice methodand has run extensive workshops in Ireland & Europe. Simply Voice has helped 1000’s gain confidence in their voices since 2018. To add more strings to her bow, she is an accredited Life Coach, a qualified ‘Train the Trainer’ facilitator and now training as a NVC (Non-Violent Communication) trainer.

Michelle Nolan O’Driscoll, The Swift School of Speech Training

Michelle Nolan O’Driscoll is a Senior Lecturer in Drama and Communications at the Royal Irish Academy of Music, Dublin for the past 24 years. She holds a position on the RIAM Examiner’s Board for Diploma students and the RIAM Local Centre, examining grades on a national level. She is also an examiner with New Era Academy of Music & Drama, London where she examines both on a National and International level. She has trained with the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, the London College of Music and at Queen’s University Belfast where she specialised in Music for young people with additional educational needs and is a past student of the Royal Irish Academy of Music and the College of Music,Dublin. Michelle qualified as a Pre-Instrumental teacher through the British Kodály Academy and Roehampton University and she is currently in her final year of study in London to become an Estill Master. She has studied under some of the world’s leading voice specialists in the US, UK and Ireland and hasworked and taught in Cyprus, The British West Indies and the United States. 

Michelle is the vocal coach for the British School of Excellence and she specialises in voice training for all ages. Coaching third level students for Masters and PhD viva’s is a big part of her work too. Michelle uses many techniques to help clients conquer the fear of speaking in public and she empowers them to speak with clarity, confidence and ease. Powerful vocal delivery is mastered through gesture and movement and the ability to connect and engage with the audience through the discovery of power words, good content and structure, for a variety of occasions and purposes.
